THE culmination of more than 12 months work will be on show tonight when Lakeland Senior High School delivers its annual Music Spectacular.

The event, now in its eighth year, is co-ordinated by Lakeland and features all schools within the Cockburn Central Education Network.

“This is a big event, with planning commencing a year out from the performance,” Lakeland SHS principal Laurie Longworth said.

“Lakeland organises and co-ordinates the music, lighting and the primary schools. There’s nothing quite like the pressure of live performance.

“Music technology students are used to it, having performed regularly as part of their course, but the event always adds a little excitement.”

The event, formerly called an Evening on the Green, will be held at Mt Pleasant Baptist Community College from 6pm tonight. As of last week, it was close to sold out.

Mr Longworth said very limited tickets were available, but had to be purchased through Lakeland SHS. No tickets will be sold at the door.
