Jessica NicoCockburn Gazette

SOME new 3D mini golf fun has arrived in Cockburn.

Glowing Rooms has opened their first Australian experience in Hamilton Hill, combining ultraviolet lights, funky murals, 3D imagery and indoor mini-golf in a new fun, family-friendly experience.

Glowing Rooms owner Ben Herzog said he first saw the concept in Germany two years ago and decided it was something he needed to bring back to Perth.

“I always loved playing mini golf and with the 3D artwork it makes it so much more special,” he said.

“There are not a lot of people in the world who can do this kind of (artwork) style, there is a special technique to it.

“It took a few hundred hour of research to finally find two artist from Europe and we worked for close to a year about what we were going to have in those four rooms.”

The 18 hole course is split between four rooms which are covered in 3D artwork on the floors, walls and course, giving players a game few have ever experienced before.

Glowing Rooms has opened a new 3D mini golf experience in Hamilton Hill.

Mr Herzog said the new concept had been well received since they opened a few weeks ago and that he was hoping to expand into including a virtual reality escape room in the near future.

“People are in awe when they enter the first room,” he said.

“I love filming those reactions, some people absolutely lose it, they just cannot believe how it all works when the golf ball appears to hover over the floor.

“Its not just another standard venue, everyone can play it.”

The venue caters to birthday parties and has it’s own in-house cafe.
