New ride code-named Mi3 coming to Adventure World in 2017

With the ride due in a year, the Bibra Lake theme park was playing things close to its chest last week, revealing little.

But Adventure World chief executive Mark Shaw did say the ride would “literally launch guests to new heights”.

“We set the benchmark with Abyss and Kraken and have spent the past year scouring the globe for a new attraction that will continue to up the ante,” he said.

“Having road-tested four of these attractions across three continents, we are confident we have got it right and can’t wait to introduce this exciting new concept to WA.”

Code-named “Mi3”, the ride follows in the footsteps of the $12 million Abyss rollercoaster which opened in late 2013 and the $7 million waterslide called Kraken, unveiled in 2015.

Followers of the park on social media were excited by the announcement.

“So excited,” one follower posted.

“Love how far Adventure World has come over the years and it just keeps getting better,” another post read.

“It’s great that my kids can come and enjoy themselves and make memories here just like I did at their age.

“Excited to see what Mi3 is all about.”

Another joked: “That’s good news, and you know I’m hard to please”.

Others called for something a little more down-tempo.

“I would spend 95 per cent of summer floating around the lazy river,” one user wrote.
