The centre’s kindergarten children will be recognised this month for their efforts fundraising for SIDS and Kids on Red Nose Day.

The centre has also collected donations for the Salvation Army Christmas Appeal and the Christmas handbag appeal for homeless women.

Play and Learn O’Connor centre manager Jenny Palmer said they were trying to emphasise to the staff, children and families how important it was to give to someone in need.

“We want the children who come to Play and Learn to understand that not everyone has a lot of things such as clothing, toys or food,” she said.

“We want giving and helping to come naturally to our children.

Donations for the Salvation Army Christmas Appeal can be dropped at the centre between 9am and 5pm on weekdays.
