Thieves are believed to have cut through fencing to steal 11-month-old Jamie from a property in Munster over the Easter long weekend.

The animal’s body was found nearby a day after it went missing, having sustained several broken bones.

Owners Kevin and Fran Buscat buried Jamie last Tuesday.

“We still don’t know why or how someone would have done that,” Mr Buscat said.

Flowers and cards have been placed at the Buscat’s property as a tribute to Jamie, who would have turned one on Thursday.

Mr Buscat said he had also received numerous calls of support from the public.

A “Justice for Jamie” Facebook page has been set up, with information still being sought.

“People I don’t even know have been ringing me up and dropping off sympathy cards,” Mr Buscat said.

“It’s great to know there is support.”
