POLICE are searching for offenders who assaulted a man and a security officer during a Spearwood burglary on Monday.
A group of people smashed a window and forced entry to a house on Doolette Street just after midnight on October 21.
Police said the group forced two occupants, men aged in their 20s and 40s, to unlock an off-road motorcycle and demanded money.
The man in his 40s was assaulted during the incident and was left with an injury to his head.
The group left the property on foot but pushed the motorcycle down the road.
Shortly after, a security officer patrolling the area saw three people pushing a motorcycle near the intersection of Spearwood Avenue and Gower Street.
The trio approached the security officer who was in her vehicle and hit the driver’s side window with a small axe, which landed inside the vehicle next to the officer.
Police said the security officer managed to drive away after receiving grazes to her shoulder, hand and fingers.
The group fled the area and abandoned the motorcycle.
Investigators would like to speak to anyone with information in relation to this incident, or who has CCTV or dash-cam vision of the group in the area at the time.
Anyone that can assist is asked to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or to make a report online at www.crimestopperswa.com.au.
