A PUPPY was found dead after thieves broke into a house, police confirmed today.

The eight-month-old Pug puppy named Coco was discovered missing after a burglary at a house in Spearwood overnight.

Her heartbroken family had issued a plea for her return on social media, saying they were distraught.

But a neighbour found the puppy dead a short distance away.

Her owner issued a plea to find the people responsible.

“There’s not easy way to say this but our little coco has been found and she’s off with the Angels,” she said on social media.

“To say we’re absolutely devastated is an understatement. People can be so cruel sometimes and our Coco bean did not deserve this.”

Police are appealing for witnesses and CCTV footage in a bid to find those responsible.

A spokeswoman for police said Cockburn Police were investigating a home burglary overnight, that resulted in the death of a family pet.

“Sometime between 1.30am and 6am the house in Nineham Avenue was broken into,” she added.

“The occupant, who was housesitting for the residents, had discovered areas of the home that were rummaged through.
