Rehabilitating Roe 8 Advisory Committee holds inaugural meeting

THE newly formed Rehabilitating Roe 8 Advisory Committee used it’s inaugural meeting to set a number of goals for the next 12 months.

The 15-member committee set a number of targets to rehabilitate the Roe 8 corridor including an Aboriginal heritage survey, the installation of walk trails and signage, planting 45,000 seedlings and hosting a community open day in April.

The committee is made up of representatives from the Australian Association of Environmental Education, the City of Cockburn Aboriginal Reference Group, Cockburn Community Wildlife Corridor, Conservation Council WA, Coolbellup Community Association, the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions, the Aboriginal Land and Sea Council, the Hamilton Hill Community Group, Native ARC, Perth Urban Restoration Science Advisory Committee, Wildflower Society of WA, Wetlands Centre Cockburn and the Western Australian Biodiversity Science Institute.
