South Lake craft aficionado says discover your crafty side at Perth Craft and Quilt Fair

Bryce LuffCockburn Gazette

ARTS and craft is a great way to relax and feel proud of what you make, says South Lake resident Wendy Hopper.

Ms Hopper took up scrapbooking close to two decades ago and has not looked back.

She is a consultant for Close to my Heart, an avenue for women to come together and express their creativity, which will feature at the Craft and Quilt Fair which starts tomorrow at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Her team will have a make-and-take stand, a workshop on scrapbooking and a class on creating a feature centre piece.

“Crafts of all sorts are popular again and this is evident in the increasing number of hand-made markets popping up,” she said.

Ms Hopper said there would also be information on how to preserve photos.

“More photos are taken now than at any time in history but we do nothing with them,” she said.

“Getting your photos off your devices and into your life is something we are passionate about.”
