South Lake Leisure Centre to permanently close outdoor pools and slides tonight

Bryce LuffCockburn Gazette

PUBLIC access to the South Lake Leisure Centre’s (SLLC) outdoor pools and slides will be closed permanently from 5pm this evening.

The City of Cockburn will remove the pools before the 26-year-old recreation centre site is eventually handed over to Education Department to accommodate growing numbers at Lakeland Senior High School.

The centre’s indoor pools will remain open over the Easter school holidays.

The SLLC’s complete closure will coincide with the opening of Cockburn ARC, the $109 million recreation centre being built at Cockburn Central West.

That is likely to take place at the end of May.
