A DAY of music, fun activities and food will take over the Cockburn Youth Centre this month in a fundraiser for Telethon.

The Big Free Funday for Telethon promises a bumper line up including wrestling, music, soccer, inflatable rides, yoga, Zumba, comedy and food all in once place as service providers such as the City of Cockburn, Brady St Music, Dance Inclusion and Befriend put together a day of entertainment people of all ages and abilities can enjoy.

Event coordinator Enrico Fazio from Brady St Music said the aim behind the event was twofold, to raise money and support for Telethon whilst also showing how events could be inclusive for people with disabilities.

“The day will be filled with various activities and performances, from start till finish,” he said.

“Starting at 10am with a barbeque, there will be countless free workshops on topics including music, art and dance, there will be a toy fair between 10am and 4pm, wrestling exhibitions starting at 2pm, with live music and djs going on throughout the day, accompanied by inflatable courses for the kids and more.

“Attending the event will not only be raising awareness for Telethon, but for all the local community groups participating, groups like Dance Inclusion who run a great special needs dance program.

“The event is free and a fantastic way to spend a Saturday with friends and family.”

The Big Free Fun Day is at the Cockburn Youth Centre on October 27 from 10am to 7pm.
