Swimming teacher charged with child sex offences

A BEELIAR swimming teacher has been charged following allegations of sexual abuse against a child under his supervision.

Police allege the 48-year-old sexually assaulted a teenage swimming student at his school between 2015 and 2017.

The girl was 14 when the first  alleged offence is believed to have taken place.

Among charges laid against the man by Fremantle detectives were six counts of indecent dealing of a child while under supervision, four counts of using an electronic device to procure a child to engage in sexual activity and one count of procuring a child to engage in sexual behaviour.

He appeared in the Fremantle Magistrates Court today, with a second appearance scheduled for July 17.
