HAMMOND Park residents have added incentive to get cracking on a spring clean.

The Hammond Park Community Association (HPCA) has pencilled in its third suburb-wide garage sale event for Saturday.

The event, which attracts buyers from across Perth, offers locals the chance to de-clutter their homes, turns unwanted goods into cash and sees unused items re-homed. Held just before the City of Cockburn’s bulk verge collection, it also encourages waste reduction through re-use and recycling.

Rebecca Rosa said 21 homes had inquired about hosting a garage sale this weekend.

“Many people use it as a way to de-clutter their homes of things they no longer need or use,” she said.

“People know we hold it around this time every year so we have been getting some questions about our next one.

“It’s a good opportunity for buyers to get a bargain.”
