The upgrades, currently out for public consultation, will also include road widening and landscaping.
Engineering and works |director Charles Sullivan said the plan was to have the upgrade finished before the Aubin Grove train station opens early next year.

READ NOWBut he said there were concerns with the flow of traffic north along Lyon Road at the shopping precinct and east along Gibbs Road.
“We believe an increase in cars once the train station is open will exacerbate traffic troubles on the Harvest Lakes side of the Kwinana Freeway and these issues are not being addressed,” he said.
“We do have concerns for pedestrian safety within the shopping precinct once the train station is open.”
The upgrades were also welcomed byAubin Grove residents. Trevor Ridgwell said they should ease growing safety concerns and increased frustration with the level of traffic in the area, particularly at morning and afternoon peak hours.
Cockburn councillor Chamonix Terblanche was pleased to see change, saying the current roundabout was “an accident waiting to happen”.
