Trio charged over Spearwood home invasion

Jessica NicoCockburn Gazette

THREE men who allegedly forced their way into a Spearwood home brandishing machetes and crowbars have been arrested.

The incident occurred in the early hours of Friday October 20, with Fremantle Detectives alleging the men entered the Rockingham Road home armed with the weapons, demanding cash and property from a 20-year-old man, his girlfriend and a 49-year-old woman who were inside at the time.

Police said one of the victims was successful in phoning for police, which spooked the intruders and they ran from the property with some stolen items.
