Church youth leader faces child sex charges

POLICE have charged a woman from Beeliar over the alleged sexual assault of a girl, which occurred between 2008 and 2011.

The offences allegedly occurred while the woman was working as a volunteer leader at a church youth group.

The girl was 13 at the time of the alleged first offence.

The 30-year-old woman has been charged with two counts of sexually penetrating a child over 13 years and under 16 and four counts of indecently dealing with a child over 13 and under 16.

She has also been charged with having persistent sexual conduct with a child under 16.

The woman is due to appear before Fremantle Magistrates Court on April 5.
