BRIGHTLY coloured totem poles now greet visitors to the Yangebup Family Centre after the old ones were replaced.
With the original poles ravaged by termites, the centre used a $3900 cultural grant from the City of Cockburn and the talent of the original artist Jahne Rees to refresh the local landmark.
Rees worked with Women of the World, a multicultural women’s group that meets at the centre, to bring the totem poles back to life and add something that reflect the cultural diversity of the Cockburn community.
