BGC’s Sixty Flourish apartments in Atwell have wide appeal

Staff WriterCockburn Gazette

FIRST-HOME buyers Anneliese McKinley and Matthew Forrest are among the first residents to move into BGC Developments’ Sixty Flourish Apartments at Atwell.

According to BGC, they are among a wave of young buyers embracing apartments as a stepping stone onto the property ladder.

“We knew we wanted to live in this area, but we weren’t ready to commit to purchasing a house and the maintenance and money that comes with it,” Ms McKinley said.

The complex in Harvest Lakes Estate appeals to a range of buyers and includes 59 one, two and three-bedroom apartments designed to suit different lifestyles.

It attracted strong interest; more than 70 per cent of the residences have sold and only one-bedroom, one-bathroom and two-bedroom, one-bathroom apartments remain available.

Apartments WA sales manager Chad Toquero said apartment developments had significant lifestyle appeal to empty-nesters as well as young buyers and as a result the apartments with two or three bedrooms and two bathrooms were the first to sell out.

“While the younger buyers were snapping up the smaller, more affordable options, the downsizers took quick action with the larger format apartments we had available,” he said.

Sixty Flourish Apartments is in walking distance of the Aubin Grove train station and close to key local infrastructure such as Fiona Stanley Hospital, Murdoch University and the Cockburn Aquatic Centre, with easy access to Kwinana Freeway.

Mr Toquero said the development of the train station had also given investors the confidence to act.

“The new train station is a huge positive for anyone who is buying property within walking distance,” he said.

“The trip to Perth CBD is only around 16 minutes.

“It’s great for residents, it’s very attractive for tenants and it’s great if you’re thinking about property price growth in the long term.”

Fully furnished display apartments at 60 Flourish Loop, Atwell are open for viewing on Saturdays and Sundays from 11am to 1.30pm or Wednesdays and Thursdays from 2pm to 5pm.

Prices start from $349,000 for a one-bedroom, one-bathroom apartment and $399,000 for a two-bedroom, one-bathroom apartment.
