FOLLOWING the announcement of Tyrone Thwaites as general manager of the Cockburn Basketball Association (CBA) last week, the association has welcomed Amiria Driscoll as the club’s new operations manager.

Ms Driscoll a former bookings and program manager at the Loftus Recreation Centre also held the role of acting centre manager, where she significantly developed the use of facilities and holiday programs in her time there, according to Mr Thwaites, who believes her drive will push the CBA towards a future of sustainable success.

“Amiria brings leadership, energy and an unwavering commitment to assist the association in our 2018 strategic goals and beyond,” he said.

“She has experience in managing and growing both competitions and programs – which makes her a perfect fit to draw numbers to our junior competition and incredibly successful Aussie Hoops centres.

“I am excited to begin working with her later this month, it’s a very exciting time to be a part of the Cougar family.”

Originally from New Zealand, Ms Driscoll will bring operational basketball experience as part of her previous role as operations manager of Waikato Basketball where she managed the club’s competitions, staff and marketing strategy.

Ms Driscoll will oversee CBA’s junior and senior competitions, as well as the association’s award-winning participation programs.

“The association is excited with the energy, experience and initiative she will bring to the CBA,” Mr Thwaites said.

Ms Driscoll will join the association full-time from January 25.
