THE AFL season is now four rounds in and a local football club is waiting to offer a new batch of inspired kids the chance to kick goals.
Cockburn Junior Football Club president Wayne Fernie said the Hamilton Hill-based club was looking to attract new families and players.
“Cockburn was once a powerhouse club but has dwindled due to it being in an older area,” he said.
Mr Fernie said the club had been putting in extra work to attract new players.
He said there were pathways for junior players if they were keen to follow the sport right through to the top.
“We are a small family oriented club where players get a fair go,” Mr Fernie said.
“We are a fresh committee with a seriously large amount of experience in running junior sporting clubs.”
