THE competition was fierce as the future stars of female football competed for the 2018 Freo Dockers Schoolgirls Cup.

Students from schools including Yule Brook College, St Norbert’s College, Darling Range Sports College and Southern River College went toe to toe for the coveted cup, which was eventually won by Governor Stirling Senior High School after they beat a Southern River College team which to that point had been undefeated.

Southern River coach Renae Paunic said despite the 19-point loss, the team of 20 girls had done the school proud.
