Cricket: Fremantle, Cockburn, Phoenix into finals

RAIN forced draws in three of the four South Metropolitan Cricket Association matches on the weekend.

Only Phoenix, who annihilated Bicton Attadale on day one of their match, recorded a win.

The East Fremantle-SJ Blues, Leeming-Hilton Palmyra and CBC-Cockburn matches all finished in a tie.

Both the second-placed Cockburn and Phoenix (third) finished in the top four and will play each other in the semi-finals this weekend.

The game will be held at Davilak Reserve from 1pm on both March 16 and 17.

Fremantle’s WA Premier Cricket one-day match against Gosnells was also rained out.

Fremantle finished the regular season in fourth on the ladder and will take on third-placed Willetton in this weekend’s elimination final.

The game will be held at Burrendah Park, Willetton from 11.10am on both March 16 and 17.
