Staff WriterCockburn Gazette

FOR the first time in the 10-year history of the Jandakot Senior Football Club, the League, Reserves and Colts will contest Grand Finals.

Jandakot Jets is the only club in the Western Australian Amateur Football League that has two undefeated sides in the competition with both the League and Reserves finishing with an impressive 16 wins and zero losses for the home and away season.

The undefeated record continued into the finals series and they will be playing in the WAAFL Grand Final at Gosnells Oval on September 8.

The Jandakot Jets Colts claimed a nail biting `one-point win against the minor premiers Secret Harbour to claim a spot in the Grand Final.

This is a momentous year for the club both on and off the field, with its 10-year anniversary, first ever League Grand Final and progression into the C3 competition for season 2019.

While the Reserves and Colts have achieved success in Grand Finals the league team has never achieved the ultimate prize; 2018 perhaps will change that record.

Through the help of the Jandakot Jets Junior Football Club, a lot of the football talent in the senior side has come from the juniors with a total of eight registered colts players stepping up and playing league football, three of which have played the majority of the season in League.

The junior talent coming through means the future of the Seniors club looks very secure.

Simply by achieving the 2018 Grand Final it has now allowed the club to progress into a higher C3 grade which the club welcomes and embraces for the 2019 season.

To put the cherry on top of a successful year, the club was also named Champion Senior Club at Monday night’s WAAFL Awards.
