PEEL Thunder consolidated their position in the top 5, bringing East Fremantle back to earth with a 36-point win on Saturday.

In a low-scoring encounter at East Fremantle Oval, the Thunder piled on five goals in the final term to win, 9.12 (66) to 3.12 (30).

Former Shark Rory O’Brien kicked three goals, while Matt Taberner and Zac Dawson kicked two each.

Defender Ethan Hughes tallied a team-high 26 disposals in the win.

Jayden Schofield led the Sharks for disposals with 28. Cam Eardley had 27.

The Thunder led by seven points at the last change but Taberner and defender-turned forward Zac Dawson both goaled early to offer the visitors some breathing room.

A neat Rory O’Brien finish midway through the final term, one of his two goals in the last quarter, followed a major to Nicholas Merritt and the contest was over.

Across town, Blaine Johnson booted nine goals as South Fremantle punished Perth by 110 points at Fremantle Oval on Sunday.

Johnson finished with 9.2 from 19 possessions as the Bulldogs overcame a slow start to record the 25.13 (163) to 7.11 (53) win.

Cory Dell’Olio (six goals) and Mason Shaw (five) were outstanding, while Haiden Schloithe continues to prove his worth as a goal-kicking midfielder, finishing with 32 disposals and four goals.

Brendan Verrier was the prominent ball-winner on the ground with 36 disposals.

Demons forward Callum Papertalk booted four goals from five disposals in the loss.

Perth midfielder Aidan Tropiano had 24 disposals.
