Cockburn Basketball Association (CBA) operation manager Graeme Pratt said the new boards will be able to be lowered down for junior players.

“The proposed backboards can also swing up to the roof to allow other sports to be played at the stadium,” he said.

The $130,000 project cost will be split between the State Government, City of Cockburn and the CBA.

The State Government, under its Community Sporting and Recreation Facilities Fund, recently contributed $39,583 to the cause.

Mr Pratt said the new boards would be installed as soon as possible.

“We need to find a suitable time so installation does not impact on our competitions and other activities,” he said.
