NINE WA artists will be working in shades of purple to help fundraise for Epilepsy Action Australia.

Piara Waters artist Jessica Swan is one of the WA artists involved in this year’s Art for Epilepsy fundraiser, where participants submit a piece for a month-long fundraising auction in May.

Each artist had to include the colour purple in their artwork – the internationally recognised colour for epilepsy awareness.

Ms Swan said her piece was inspired by the fundraiser itself, which she described as a being for a “very worthy cause”.

“‘Mountains’ is an abstract representation of the mountains we all have to climb in life and is painted in an uplifting colour palette to give the viewer positive vibes,” she said.

“Art for Epilepsy is a wonderful opportunity for art lovers to pick themselves up a meaningful piece and know that it will make a difference in someone’s life.

“I’m pleased to know my work will be helping a good cause and hopefully raise awareness for those affected by epilepsy.”
