CHRISTMAS cheer will be spread throughout the area a little easier thanks to a $12,000 grant to the Lions Club of Armadale-Kelmscott.

Federal member for Burt Matt Keogh visited the organisation to hand over the Stronger Communities Program 2017-18 funding, which will be put towards a new Santa Sleigh.

The sleigh is an annual event for the Lions Club and will roam the streets of Armadale in the lead up to Christmas, handing out sweets and Christmas cheer to local residents.

Mr Keogh said he hoped the donation would help the organisation spread Christmas through the suburbs for many more years.

“I was glad to support the Lions Club and help them continue their great work through their Santa sleigh and I look forward to seeing them out and about in the Armadale-Kelmscott community spreading Christmas joy,” he said.
