Gosnells pedestrian accessway to remain open

In August last year, a petition was presented to the council asking for the accessway to be closed because of anti-social behaviour in the area.

The City consulted 305 landowners and received 41 replies, with anti-social behaviour being one of the major concerns raised, although others noted that they used the path frequently while walking pets.

The Transport Department advised that it would not support the closure of the path as it would reduce the continuity of the bicycle network.

Several councillors noted that people did ride motorbikes through the accessway and the City could consider some measures to prevent that.
