Anti-graffiti operation nabs offenders

More than 20 per cent of charges were laid in the Southeast Metropolitan district, with 44 people incurring 98 charges.

A spokeswoman said since 2011, WA Police had held six phases of Eraser across metropolitan Perth.

State Graffiti Taskforce chairman Steven Brown said police knew graffiti was closely linked to other crimes, having tracked offenders apprehended in previous Eraser operations.

‘This was further demonstrated during Eraser Six, with many offenders charged with other offences such as burglary, stealing a motor vehicle, robbery and drug offences,’ he said.
