FASHION lovers and brides-to-be will converge on picturesque Araluen Botanic Park for a special fashion event next weekend.

Following the huge success of last year’s event, the 2018 Spring into Armadale Fashion Show will showcase creations from two of the WA fashion industry’s top designers.

Alvin Fernandez of ae’lkemi will feature a range of his cocktail and evening wear, while Samantha Wynne Boutique’s namesake Samantha Wynne will show off her own bridal designs, as well as those from Pronovias and Watters Brides.

Local sisters Leah and Amanda Middleton are among a group of students from the Fashion Advocate’s Life Skills Mentorship program, headed by Jimmy Choo corporate advisor Catherine Birch, who will model the designer clothing and bridal dresses.

Ms Birch said it would be a special opportunity for those in the mentorship program.

“The program has been delivered for the past seven years as an outreach to local schools and communities, identifying male and female students to learn leadership, communication, teamwork and skills to pursue career pathways in the fashion industry,” she said.

As well as the fashion shows, attendees will also be able to enjoy a boutique expo that includes Tyler Reid Hair, FuMoso, Conscious Candle Company and Charlene O’Brien couture.

Armadale mayor Henry Zelones said the Spring into Armadale Fashion Show was always a popular event on the local calendar.

“It is fantastic that we have quality venues such as Araluen Botanic Park in which to deliver these sorts of events, showcasing our wonderful City and all it has to offer to visitors from around the State,” he said.

Spring into Armadale is an annual program that aims to boost tourism and trade in the area through arts, fashion and creative business events during the spring months.

The Spring into Armadale Fashion Show will be at Araluen Botanic Park from 3pm to 5.30pm, August 11.
