Armadale and Gosnells groups encouraged to apply for grants

COMMUNITY, government and sporting groups within the cities of Armadale and Gosnells are being prioritised by the State Government for grant applications.

The Targeted Participation Program helps community organisations such as clubs, state sporting associations and local governments to promote participation in sport and active recreation.

Projects must increase participation in physical activity, encourage pathways into community sport and active recreation and create quality, affordable opportunities to engage groups which would not usually participate.

In 2018, the program will focus on demographics such as the Aboriginal community, girls aged 12-17, people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, people with a disability, seniors and at-risk youth.

Applicants may request funding between $5000 and $15,000 for projects commencing between July 1, 2018 and June 30, 2019.

The current round is now open and closes on February 28.
