Armadale: cyclist fined by WA traffic police for using mobile phone while riding

A WOMAN was caught and fined by police in Armadale riding her bike while using a mobile phone.

She told police she was “talking to her daughter”.

The woman was riding on Forrest Road near Dale Road at the time.

The Road Safety Commission website says it is illegal to touch a mobile phone “while driving” unless it is secured in a mounting on a vehicle.

There’s no specific information on mobile phone use while cycling.
