ARMADALE Arena is set to build healthy bodies and strong minds with a new Fitness for Teens program.

The group fitness and gym training sessions are designed to encourage young people between 13 and 17 to take an interest in their health and wellbeing, and enjoy being active in a fun and safe environment.

Armadale Mayor Henry Zelones said the training was tailored to each individual.

“The age-appropriate group training activities include boxing, strength training, cardio and body weight exercises, all accompanied with the latest music,” Mr Zelones said.

After an initial consultation, qualified instructors set up each teenager with a unique training program and advice on how to use the equipment.

The initial consultation fee is $38 and each session is $7 thereafter.

Group training runs from 4.30pm to 5pm and the gym sessions run from 4pm to 5.30pm on Mondays and Wednesdays at Armadale Arena.
