Burpees combine a squat, kick back, push-up and jump into a sequence of moves performed in quick succession.

Mr Kissick-Ponga went for 12 hours with five-minute breaks every hour.

He said it was a tough mental challenge.

“The first hour didn’t go well as it was a bit rushed and nerve-racking and I couldn’t get my heart rate down,” he said.

“The fifth hour was a bit of a struggle and the last two hours were a struggle but I had some awesome support from a ton of people coming in to help keep me motivated.”

He said he was currently planning his next challenge and said it was a bit of an addiction now.

Mr Kissick-Ponga said he would now put an application in to get it officially recognised.
