A NEW train-themed playground has opened up in the heart of Armadale.

After a short redevelopment, Memorial Park reopened on September 7 complete with a new playground for local children to enjoy.

The new play equipment includes an authentic restored railway signal as the centrepiece as well as a rail bridge, community swing, climbers, slides and an all-ability seesaw.

The new train themed playground at Armadale’s Memorial Park is now open.

Armadale mayor Henry Zelones said it was hoped the park would become a favourite among residents and visitors.

“Our community has told us that parks are one of their favourite things about the Armadale region, and the City is committed to improving them for everyone to enjoy,” he said.

“This playground has become a favourite over the years to everyone visiting the city centre, and provides a safe space for children to be active and enjoy being outdoors.

“The latest additions to this much loved park make it even more interesting for children to explore and use their imagination.”
