IT is a case of new location, same great event when the City of Armadale host their Naidoc celebrations on Tuesday.

The free community event will include a raft of live entertainment and family-friendly activities centred around Aboriginal culture and this year’s Naidoc Week theme, ‘because of her, we can’.

Armadale mayor Henry Zelones said this year’s event will be held at Memorial Park while the Champion Centre is under redevelopment.

“This year’s theme is a fantastic way to recognise and celebrate the incredible achievements of, and support offered by, local Aboriginal Elders and ATSI women, who tirelessly contribute their time and encourage young women in the community,” he said.

“These leaders of today are role models and a constant inspiration to our younger Aboriginal women who will take up the mantle of leadership in future years and continue with their great work.”

The City of Armadale’s Naidoc Week celebrations will be held at Memorial Park from 10am to 3pm on July 10.
