Armadale police almost hit Pokemon Go player, warn users to be vigilant

ARMADALE Police are warning residents to remember to be safe while playing Pokemon Go after a girl walked out in front of a patrol car.

Police have also said that more people are wandering the streets at night in Armadale playing the game.

Acting sergeant Daniel Fitzgerald said they were gong 30km/h on Monday night when they saw a girl get off the train looking down her phone.

“Luckily we were watching her, we swerved out and she would have hit us if we hadn’t seen her,” he said.

“We turned round and spoke to her and she said she was addicted to the game.”

Acting sgt Fitzgerald said they had to cancel a job on the same night after people were seen hanging around a storage unit in Kelmscott playing Pokemon Go.

“At the moment there are more people around,” he said.

“I don’t see it as a good thing or a bad thing.

“Just remember to keep yourself safe and be wary of your surroundings.”

Several Police stations have taken to Twitter including Canning Vale and Murdoch to warn people to remain safe.
