Armadale seniors to be celebrated with positive ageing festival

SENIORS will be celebrated with a positive ageing festival in the Armadale CBD during November.

The festival, on November 3, will include a fashion parade, Tai Chi, a Living Longer Living Stronger demonstration and a free sausage sizzle by Neighbourhood Watch.

Pole walking will also be demonstrated.

With walking groups in Armadale and Roleystone, volunteers are being sought for a pole-walking group in Kelmscott.

“While you sit and relax with friends you can enjoy some classic and contemporary music from the Lumen Christi College Swing Band followed by the John Calvin Christian College 40-piece concert band,” Mayor Henry Zelones said.

More than 60 displays will promote physical health and mental well-being.

The Positive Ageing Seniors Festival will be held in the Jull Street Mall and Armadale Shopping City from 9.30am to 1.30pm.

Other seniors activities will be hosted during November with details available from the city’s administration building or online at https://www.armadale.wa.gov.au.

Festival booklets include discount vouchers to local businesses during November.
