Tim SlaterComment News

THE City of Armadale has apologised for the delay in junk verge collections, due to “several issues” with their contractor and said it shares “residents’ frustrations”.

“Forrestdale and most of Harrisdale have been collected and we are currently working on finishing Harrisdale and Piara Waters,” a City statement released on Thursday said.

“We expected Harrisdale and Piara Waters to be finished by the end of the weekend.

“Haynes, Hilbert and Brookdale collections will begin once we are finished in Piara Waters and we are expecting completion of these areas by mid this week (most likely Wednesday).

“Those who are in Zone 9, which is Armadale south of Armadale Road, have received flyers that state collections will begin today .

“The collections for this area will not be able to begin until earlier areas have been finished, but we expect this area to be completed by Sunday, April 10.”

The City said the schedule should return to normal and areas that have not had a collection yet should keep an eye out on their letterbox for an orange flyer which will state which weekend they can put junk on verges.
