Armadale welcomes new citizens at Australia Day ceremony

THE City of Armadale continues to be one of WA’s fastest growing areas, reaching a population of 90,000 people on Friday January 20.

It became 91,029 when Armadale welcomed Australia’s newest citizens in a ceremony held in Memorial Park on January 26, Australia Day.

Armadale Mayor Henry Zelones, who conducted the proceedings, said was a particularly momentous occasion for those choosing to become Australian citizens by pledging their commitment to embrace the responsibilities and priviledges of Australian citizenship.

“Australia Day is a special day for all our community to come together and celebrate what we love about the country we call home,” he said.
