IT has been months in the making but local children can now say ‘Ahoy!’ to the brand new 6000sq m nautical-themed park in Hilbert.

Officially opening on Sunday, the multi-million dollar park in the Sienna Woods estate includes a 30m shipwreck surrounded by rocks, sand and shipping cargo, viewing platforms, giant swings, a dual all-abilities flying fox, in-ground trampolines, slides and even musical equipment.

Stockland WA general manager Col Dutton said there had been much community anticipation over the park and they were looking forward to seeing children enjoying it for years to come.

“This is a fantastic play space that will allow kids’ imaginations to run wild,” he said.

“They can look forward to endless fun studying a treasure map, walking the plank, climbing nets and navigating the high seas.

“We are anticipating that this park will become a drawcard for families in Perth’s thriving southern growth corridor.”
