A CELEBRATION of all things Avocado will return to the Araluen Botanic Park this month.

The two day festival will pay homage to the food-lover’s favourite fruit and will include cooking demonstrations from the likes of Verity James, Vince Garreffa and Sue McDougall, live music and entertainment.

For the hungry there will also be stalls serving a range of favourites like smashed avo and nachos with guacamole, as well as some more unusual offerings including avocado beer, cider and cocktails, avocado pizza and bagels, frozen avocado yogurt pops and avocado ice cream.

Armadale mayor Henry Zelones said the area’s restaurants and bars were also joining in the fun with special avocado-themed offerings in the lead up to the festival.

“Foodies and avocado fans can celebrate throughout the month of November and taste creative concoctions including avocado damper, avocado margaritas and avocado and pecan cake,” he said.

The Avocado Festival will be at the Araluen Botanic Park from November 24 to 25.
