Beckenham: Dogs’ Refuge Home of WA appeals for forever home for foster dog Annie

Ben SmithComment News

FOR the past five weeks, Beckenham resident Iain Tompsett has provided a foster home for mastiff-staffy cross Annie.

Mr Tompsett has temporarily re-homed the two-year-old after volunteering as a foster owner for the Dogs’ Refuge Home of WA.

However, he said while he had loved his time looking after her, it was time to find her a permanent home and appealed to the community to adopt her.

Mr Tompsett said while Annie had struggled in the kennels, she had adjusted well to living with him.

“She can’t handle staying in the kennels, she stresses too much and loses too much weight, but she likes it here and she’s settled in well,” he said.

Mr Tompsett said Annie would be best suited to someone who did not already have a dog, given her mistrust of other dogs.

“She’s very playful, she likes to talk a bit and is very affectionate towards humans, but doesn’t like other dogs,” he said.

“But she likes humans, she’ll let kids pat her, there’s no aggressiveness towards humans.”
