Biblical floral fundraising festival in bloom

Sam Gibbs, Canning TimesComment News

The Bible in Bloom flower festival will feature 15 flower arrangements including one from Sabbath Primary School children aged six to nine.

Residents who are not professional florists will provide most of the flower arrangements for the festival.

Proceeds from the festival will support the youth group Livingston StormCo Team who make a weekly trip once a year to an indigenous community in WA to volunteer their time for kids’ clubs and community service.

Southern River MLA Peter Abetz will open the festival Friday night with a dedicatory service.

The festival will be held at the Livingston Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Canning Vale this Friday at 6.30pm and will run during the day on Saturday and Sunday.

The StormCo Team will run a cafe serving light refreshments on Saturday and Sunday afternoon.

It is a free event and people are welcome to make a donation.

This is the third flower festival the church has held. The others were in 2007 and 2010.
