Budding writers encouraged to enter Armadale Young Writer’s Awards

BUDDING young writers are encouraged to put pen to paper and enter the City of Armadale’s annual Armadale Young Writers’ Awards.

The competition is open to students in years 3 to 12 who reside or attend school in the City of Armadale. There are five categories broken into grade groups, and in each category there will be a first prize of $200, second prize of $150, and third prize of $100.

All place-getters’ stories will be collated into a book presented to them with a trophy and certificate at the award ceremony.

Entries will be accepted for the awards between June 1 and June 30.

Work must be prose only and stories should be 2000 words or less.
