Roleystone couple never anticipated to be affected by bushfire

Their 1970s home was on a quiet residential street in Roleystone with a bit of bush behind it, not in a Perth Hills area they considered to be bushfire-prone.

The last thing Mrs Luffman expected to receive ” while she was on holiday in the UK with her 10-week-old daughter Zoe ” was a text message from the Kelmscott Bushfire Action Group warning people in the Roleystone Hills to evacuate their homes.

‘I phoned my husband Dave, who was at home, to find out what was happening,’ she said.
