Bushire warning for Hopeland in the Shire of Serpentine-Jarrahdale

A BUSHFIRE advice has been issued for an area in Hopeland in the Shire of Serpentine-Jarrahdale.

The bushfire advice is for an area bounded by Karnup Road to the north, Hopeland Road to the east, Punrak Road to the south and Yangedi Road to the west.

The Department of Fire and Emergency Services issued the advice at noon due to a lot of smoke in the area, but there is no threat to lives or homes.

Although there is no immediate danger, residents are urged to keep up to date in case the situation changes.

The fire is contained by not controlled.

Smoke is affecting Karnup Road and motorists are asked to avoid the area, reduce speed and drive carefully due to smoke.

About 20 bushfire service firefighters are at the scene.
