Candidates line up for poll battle

Staff ReporterComment News

Political parties are lining up their potential candidates as the campaign trail heats up. The Greens have pre-selected Damon Pages-Oliver for Canning while the Australian Christians have appointed Derek Bruning. However, Labor is yet to pre-select a candidate against Mr Randall, who has held the seat since 2001.

The Labor Party was due to meet again last night to discuss pre-selections.

The Canning electorate margin is 2.2 per cent.

The extremely marginal seat of Hasluck, held by Liberals’ Ken Wyatt with a mere 948 votes, is the one to watch with Adrian Evans aiming to wrestle back the 0.57 per cent margin for Labor.
