Rupert the dachshund disappeared from Ms Russell’s home almost three months ago and she has carried out a campaign, using posters, newspapers and social media, in an effort to track down her much loved pooch.

The latest push was a Long Dogs WA event at Piney Lakes Reserve in Winthrop, where dachshund fanciers got together for an afternoon rally.

‘Rupert is a 10-year-old long haired male dachshund,’ she said. ‘He went missing in front of his house in Huntingdale on June 17 this year.

‘More than 150 dogs came to Piney Lakes Reserve. With their charm and funny shape, they promised to catch the public’s attention and get Rupert’s face out there.’
