A CANNING Vale newsagency was delighted to realise they had sold a winning Division One lottery ticket over the weekend.

Canning Vale Newspower sold the winning ticket, worth $4.2 million, last week to a Midland family.

The family, who have declined media interviews, had been struggling to make end’s meet until their big win.

Owner Geetha Saiganesh said they were thrilled not just to have sold the winning ticket, but also to have seen it go to a worthy person.

“The thing which has made us happier is we know it’s going to someone who needs the amount,” she said.

Ms Saiganesh said the winning ticket had given the store a good buzz.

“All our customers who have walked into the store are as excited as we are.

“We actually put the story on a stand here so anyone can read it, and everybody who looks leaves very happy.”

The win comes off the back of the store selling four Division Two winners over the past three weeks.
